About

In September 1992, Paul McCartney was working on his “Off The Ground” album (work to be completed in October). He spent a day recording three tracks, which wouldn’t fit on this album.

Two of them – “Calico Skies“, “Great Day” – would be released 5 years after on “Flaming Pie“. The third one – “When Winter Comes” – would wait till 2020 to be released on the “McCartney III” album.

Bob Kraushaar was the engineer on “Off The Ground” and therefore engineered those tracks as well.

Eight Arms to Hold You: The Solo Beatles Compendium

We owe a lot to Chip Madinger and Mark Easter for the creation of those session pages, but you really have to buy this book to get all the details!

Eight Arms To Hold You: The Solo Beatles Compendium is the ultimate look at the careers of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr beyond the Beatles. Every aspect of their professional careers as solo artists is explored, from recording sessions, record releases and tours, to television, film and music videos, including everything in between. From their early film soundtrack work to the officially released retrospectives, all solo efforts by the four men are exhaustively examined.

Really one of my favorite albums by Paul. It’s no telling what he and his family was going through at the time with Linda’s cancer!
