About

From paulmccartney.com, April 15, 2013:

Paul has today confirmed he will be appearing at Miller Park in Milwaukee on the 16th July as part of his all-new forthcoming “Out There” tour. […] Paul last performed in Milwaukee in 2005 at the Bradley Center. […]

From Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, July 7, 2016:

Another eight years would go by before McCartney came back to Milwaukee, this time to perform in Miller Park for his “Out There” tour.

But the show — the highest-attended non-baseball event in the stadium’s history, with 43,000 to 44,000 people — was No. 1 on my list of the best concerts of the year, and remains a very strong contender for the greatest concert I’ve ever seen.

“McCartney’s voice has been impeccably preserved, given his age and the wear he’s inevitably had to put it through. And he played with the eagerness of a man performing his very first big show, and the gratitude of an artist playing his very last,” I wrote in my review. “Before performing ‘Maybe I’m Amazed,’ McCartney dedicated the song to his late first wife Linda. Who knows how many times he’s played it, how many times he’s dedicated it to her. And yet the expression on his face, as he hit those slightly cracked yells and pretty little coos, it was a look of pure, unadulterated love. To convey that passion at this stage, that’s nothing short of remarkable.”

There were other special gestures, including McCartney performing “Paperback Writer” on the same electric guitar he used to record the song in 1966; playing “Something” on a Gibson ukulele that was a gift from Harrison; and live performances of “All Together Now” and “Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite” that happened for the first time on that tour.

By the time the smoke from the fireworks for “Live and Let Die” cleared, McCartney had played 38 songs over nearly three hours. And while it was a sweltering night, and McCartney’s shirt was soaked in sweat, not once did he take a sip of water.

Ok. good morning, Milwaukee!! Who’s ready to have their socks rocked off tonight at Miller Field? #OutThereMilwaukee #FaceMelter
