Richard Hamilton’s exhibition at the Fraser Gallery
October 1966
About
According to Barry Miles in his book “The Beatles Diary Volume 1: The Beatles Years“, in October 1966, art dealer Robert Fraser organized an exhibition by painter Richard Hamilton at his London gallery. Paul McCartney, who was a friend of Fraser, assisted in hanging some of the work, bought a piece during the opening, and also urged John Lennon to see the exhibition.
Richard Hamilton and Paul McCartney became friends, resulting in him designing the packaging for The Beatles’ White Album in 1968.
