Late October 1969, Paul McCartney received the following cablegram signed by Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis and Tony Williams:

On October 22, the day that the “Paul is dead” rumour became an international news story, Paul, his wife Linda, and their two daughters traveled to Scotland to spend time at his farm near Campbeltown.
Apple manager Peter Brown had to send the following message back:
