About

The Grammy Trustees Award is awarded by The Recording Academy to “individuals who, during their careers in music, technology, and so on have made significant contributions, other than performance, to the field of recording“.

On this day, The Beatles received the Trustee Award in light of their “outstanding talent, originality and musical creativity that have done so much to express the mood and tempo of our times to bridge the culture gap between several generations”.

On the same day, at the 14th Annual Grammy Awards, Paul McCartney won the Grammy Awards for Best Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s), for “Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey“.
