On this day, Queen Elizabeth II attended a Diamond Jubilee celebration of the arts, at the Royal Academy of Arts. The event was attended by many actors, musicians, comedians and designers. Among those were Paul McCartney, Bono from U2, Sarah Burton, Kiri te Kanawa, Diana Rigg, Judi Dench, Joan Collins, Shirley Bassey, Vivienne Westwood, Michael Sheen, David Hockney…

A decade on and Nancy and I attended a special event titled “Celebration of the Arts” at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, and it was a thrill as ever to talk with Her Majesty.
