He’s achieved fame and fortune by the bucket load over the past fifty years but on Thursday it was time for Sir Paul McCartney to give back.
The musician led graduation celebrations at the performing arts school he founded in his home city of Liverpool.
The former Beatle presided over the graduation ceremony, which included an honour for DJ and producer Mark Ronson.
[…] The ceremony saw more than 260 students from across the globe graduate with Macca the guest of honour.
Ronson, who has worked with the likes of Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse was honoured with the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts Companion award.
Veteran US record label boss Seymour Stein, who famously gave Madonna her first deal in 1982, was also honoured along with four other luminaries.
Lipa awards its Companionships to figures who have made an outstanding achievement and practical contribution to students’ learning.
Theatre design consultant Andy Hayles, Olivier Award-winning choreographer Stephen Mear, business development officer for the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors, Rowena Morgan and audio-industry magazine publisher and editor Zenon Schoepe were also honoured. […]
