About

Paul McCartney participated to PETA’s 40th anniversary, by sending a video message.

From PETA:

To put it simply, y’all ain’t ready. Big-name stars are coming out to celebrate PETA’s remarkable 40th anniversary at a virtual livestream event on Saturday, December 12. Our annual gala is being hosted online for the first time ever this year, and some of Hollywood’s biggest names have RSVP’d.

Across four decades of pioneering advances in the animal rights movement, PETA has long relied on the compassion and conviction of celebrities who use their platforms to advocate for animals. To see everyone who’s attending, you’ll need to buy a ticket and tune in to the livestream. However, below, we’ll give you a sneak peek at just some of the stars you’ll spot at our big anniversary bash.

From PETA, December 12, 2020:

PETA has been working harder than ever for animals in 2020—and we’ve got the star-studded 40th anniversary extravaganza to prove it! To celebrate our many animal rights victories and honor some of the celebrities who helped make them happen, we invited people around the world to party with us from the comfort and safety of their own homes. And while we would have loved to toast victories for animals in person, we’ll admit that we’re not mad about hanging out with some of the world’s biggest stars in our sweats.

Cohosted by longtime PETA pals Alan Cumming and Edie Falco, our virtual event was attended by thousands of supporters from dozens of countries around the world who celebrated 40 years of landmark victories for animals, including a shift in public opinion and the scientific community against animal testing, the shutdown of Ringling Bros. Circus, the skyrocketing interest in vegan food, and the demise of the fur, angora, and other skins industries.
