About
From BeatlesWiki.org:
Outtakes from the Abbey Road sessions finally came to light on the 1978 LP No. 3 Abbey Road N.W. 8. This included longer versions of You Never Give Me Your Money, Something, and Maxwell’s Silver Hammer. It was also the first appearance of Her Majesty with the final chord. The second side featured twenty minutes of Paul and Donovan singing classic 1968 songs during the sessions for Mary Hopkin’s Post Card album. Some of these tracks first appeared on Strawberry Fields Forever magazine’s 1977 Christmas flexi-disc, but this was the first widescale release.
From the album liner notes:
In the mid 1970’s the late Joe Pope and two other collectors purchased a cache of material off of an English journalist, amongst which was the famous Decca audition tape. Also in this same deal was a tape of ABBEY ROAD outtakes and a jam between Paul and Donovan. Although it later appeared on various underground LPs, here for the first time is Joe’s tape in pristine restored quality.
