About
On this day, The Beatles played two times at The Cavern – at lunchtime and in the evening. They also played a third gig at The Cabaret in Liverpool. This was their only performance at this venue.
From 25 July 1962: Live: Cabaret Club, Liverpool | The Beatles Bible:
This was The Beatles’ only performance at the Cabaret Club at 28 Duke Street, Liverpool.
In an attempt to expose the group to a broader audience, their manager Brian Epstein organised this show. It was not, however, a success, as The Beatles were ill-suited to the cabaret circuit.
The show was unadvertised, and the group were not well received by a largely mute audience. The Beatles were paid £15 for their work, which co-manager of the club Bob Woodward recalled being so loud that they made the windows rattle.
