Interview

Glamour, films, Eppy – Paul leads off in the Beatle’s pop think-in month

[…] STRING BASSES

They hurt your fingers, especially if you’re a two-pound weakling like me.

EPPY

Someone who’s learned a lot in a very short time and is as straight as they come.

TITO BURNS

While Rome fiddles.

CIGGIES

I seem to smoke them all the time and get great pleasure from it, so there.

GEORGE MARTIN

Great fellow who’s very good at his job.

PHOTOGRAPHERS

They’ve got a hell of a job because if the editor says go and get a picture of someone in his bath, they have to do it. They probably realise it’s a dirty trick but they do it just the same. It’s a good thing they realise it’s a low trick, but they still have to do it.

PSYCHIATRY

It helps but it’s not the whole answer.

DRESSING GOWNS

I like them. I like the backing. Good to dance to.

LIVERPOOL

Home.

CARS

I like them, but mainly because they get you from place to place.

RHODESIA

Colour prejudice, I suppose.

DOGS

The only ones I don’t like are those without a sense of proportion.

CATS

I like them but my dad hates them because they pee on the lavender.

ITALY

I like Rome. It’s another fantastic-looking place. It’s one of the greatest-looking cities in the world.

DE GAULLE

De Gerrier!

COWBOYS

I don’t like them but I liked pretending to be one in America last year.

CHILDREN

Up to a certain age, I love all of them. After that, some of them get wrecked, mainly by parents.

COUNT BASIE

I haven’t heard enough of him to know if I like him or not.

TOOTH PASTE

Fab. Gear. Madison. Twist. Crazy. Dig. Most.
