From Roag Best on Facebook, January 12, 2026 – “The rainbow ceiling above the original stage was painted by Paul McCartney. He’s used the same rainbow for years, Sgt Pepper, Magical mystery tour, even still tours to this day with a piano with his rainbow on, the magic piano.“
From Roag Best on Facebook, January 13, 2026 – “The stars on the ceiling on the bar where painted by all of the boys, John, Paul, George, Pete, Stu and even my grandad. At first they where cutting the stars out and trying to stick them to the ceiling creating a 2 tier 3D effect but with the basement being so cold and damp they wouldn’t stick and kept peeling off and falling down. Eventually Mo told them to just paint the stars (which they did) and if you look closely you can still see the glue marks from where they tried to stick them up first !!”
