About
The last show of the Wings 1979 UK tour was at Glasgow, on December 17, 1979. It was professionally recorded, with some rough mixes created by Geoff Emerick on January 2, 1980.
Additional work on this recording was done in “early February 1980” according to Laurence Juber, and in April 1980 according to “McCartney – Archive Collection” release in 2011.
The live version of “Coming Up” was overdubbed in the studio, and released as a single.
In early February, [Paul] was mixing the recordings from the Glasgow show at RAK Studios with engineer Geoff Emerick. The band itself was not much involved in these sessions, except for the live version of “Coming Up”. It was intended as the B-side of Paul’s studio version, the first single from his new solo release McCartney II
