From 7 November 1969: Recording: Stardust by Ringo Starr (beatlesbible.com):

The third recording session for Ringo Starr’s debut studio album, Sentimental Journey, took place on this day.

He taped the song ‘Stardust’ with George Martin producing. The session lasted from 7-10pm, and took place at Wessex Sound Studios in north London.

‘Stardust’ was made famous by Hoagy Carmichael in 1929, and was recorded by many other singers afterwards. Starr’s version was arranged by Paul McCartney, with assistance from George Martin.
The backing track consisted of strings, horns, piano, chimes, acoustic guitar, bass guitar and drums. Starr overdubbed his lead vocals on 14 November 1969.
