Cage (aka "Emotional Moments")
Song facts
“Cage” (also named “Emotional Moments” on some bootlegs) is a song written in 1978. Demos of it dated 1978 and August 1980 are available on bootlegs. It was considered for the last Wings album, “Back To The Egg“, but was finally rejected.
Although it was not destined to make the final album sequence, we spent some serious time on this song. Based on a series of fragments, contrasting the riff-driven “Emotional Moments/CAGE” intro and outro with a rolling medium-tempo pop core. The title came from the notes of the guitar riff: C-A-G-E. We later added a calliope-like bridge section. One session at the castle was spent placing microphones around Paul’s Rolls-Royce to capture the sound of the car horn. It was not the most productive few hours and the part worked much better on a Mini Moog.

It was considered for various versions of the never-to-be “Cold Cuts” project.
