What happened for Paul in 2024

In December 2023, “Band On The Run” celebrated its 50th anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, the album was re-edited in various formats, including a half-speed mastered LP, and a double LP with rough mixes of all the tracks.

Here are what to expect from Paul McCartney in 2024 :

  • The Band On The Run 50th anniversary re-issue (announced)
  • A new album, produced by Andy Watt
    • I’m doing some more recording. I’ve been recording with a couple of people, so I’m looking forward to doing even more. I’ve started working with this producer called Andrew Watt, and he’s very interesting – we’ve had some fun.” – Paul McCartney, From paulmccartney.com, December 30, 2022
  • A new European tour?
  • The Man On The Run documentary – See New documentary about Paul McCartney in the 70s announced
  • The second track Paul recorded with The Rolling Stones to be released?
  • A documentary about Twiggy, featuring Paul? From Production starts on Sadie Frost’s ‘Twiggy’ doc, Paul McCartney and Brooke Shields to feature (exclusive) | News | Screen (screendaily.com), November 14, 2022
  • A Beatles “Rubber Soul” box set?
  • A reissue of Denny Laine’s “Holly Days”, which was produced by Paul ?
    • From Steve Hoffman Music Forums, October 15, 2023: In an interview for “MonkeeMania Radio”, Liz Hines (Denny Laine’s wife) says that Paul and Denny text quite often and recently were working on a reissue of Holly Days, with Denny making new cover art. It was put on hold when Denny became ill.
    • From Steve Hoffman Music Forums, February 3, 2024: Liz Hines: “Last summer, Denny contacted Paul McCartney to discuss re-releasing his Buddy Holly album, Holly Days. Paul was all for it. He instructed his office to contact me to start the project, but everything came to a halt once Denny got ill in late July and my focus was on him 100%. Eventually, I’ll resume this, as it’s one of my promises I made to Denny.” And also she said: You can hear the remastered ‘It’s So Easy’ from Denny’s Holly Days album here: Celebrating Music’s Greatest Stars – Buddy Holly – Listen To Me – BBC Sounds

The following projects are likely dead, so the likelihood they will surface again in 2024, is low, but who knows?

I believe that true McCartney fans would love to see the releases of London Town and Back To The Egg in an Archive Deluxe Edition. It would complete the Wings material for us and it would be a great addition to anyone’s catalog. The music on those albums have always been underrated. They are very good albums and before we all die we would love to get a chance to purchase them! Thank You 😊

I'm in your camp, Ray ! I want the Archive Collection to continue, and I want London / Back To The Egg, or anything else like Off The Ground or Press To Play... Crossing fingers for 2024!

You have no idea how excited I am for the "Man on the Run" documentary this year! As someone who recently finished the "McCartney Legacy: Volume 1" book (which chronicles 1969-1973, from the breakup of the Beatles to Band on the Run), I've had a deeper appreciation for this period of Paul's solo career, how he essentially has risen from the ashes of perhaps the greatest band to ever exist to being back on top again. I've heard that the authors of that book are working with the producers to help with the project! Can't wait to see how it turns out!

Will the (apparently) Yoto-only tracks of "Grandude Theme" and "Nandude Theme" be listed on here (released on the Yoto card, "Say Hello to Paul McCartney")? It has a nice line up, but no new tracks except for the new instrumentals listed above.

@ian - I didn't know Allan Kozinn and Adrian Sinclair were involved into the "Man On The Run" documentary - exciting, indeed !

The PaulMcCartney Project 2 months ago

@jason - they are already listed at https://www.the-paulmccartney-project.com/album/say-hello-to-paul-mccartney/ , even if I didn't mention much detail yet !
