On the third and final day of filming on Salisbury Plain, the Beatles continued production work at Knighton Down near Larkhill, Wiltshire. The cold and windswept location served as the backdrop for an outdoor mimed performance of I Need You, George Harrison’s composition, which was filmed amid troops from the real-life 3 Division stationed on the plain. The production team had arranged for gunners, machine-gunners, and a troop of horse-artillery to participate in the sequence, which would appear in Help! The Beatles departed the Antrobus Arms in Amesbury on the afternoon of May 6.
