About

From Wikipedia:

Brittany Howard (born October 2, 1988) is an American musician, best known as lead vocalist and guitarist of American rock bands Alabama Shakes and Thunderbitch. […] Although critics have compared her musical style to that of Janis Joplin, Howard has stated that she does not consider Joplin an influence and instead cites David Bowie, Bon Scott and Nina Simone as influences.

In 2015, during his concert at Lollapalooza, Paul McCartney invited Brittany Howard to join him for a rendition of Get Back. From Rolling Stone, August 1st 2015:

Paul McCartney served as Lollapalooza’s headliner Friday night in Chicago, and the former Beatle had a special guest in the store to help him out during the encore: Alabama Shakes’ Brittany Howard, who joined McCartney for a rousing rendition of “Get Back.” The Sound & Color band had performed at the Chicago fest earlier in the day.

Howard contributed her unmistakable voice to the Let It Be track’s second verse and shared chorus duties throughout with McCartney. During a false stop in the outro, McCartney and Howard delivered a little call-and-response. “Hey Brittany, you wanna get back?,” McCartney asked, with Howard replying, “Let’s get on back home, Paul.” The rollicking outro picked up again full speed with McCartney and Howard trading off on vocals.

Brittany Howard then declared:

It was such an honor to play with Paul and his incredible band. They welcomed me with open arms and I’m grateful. Once in a lifetime! I hope they had as much fun as I did.
