From Wikipedia:

Ryan Benjamin Tedder (born June 26, 1979) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. As well as being the lead vocalist for the pop rock band OneRepublic, he has an independent career as a songwriter and producer for various artists, including U2, Adele, Beyoncé, Maroon 5, Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Lopez, Westlife, Hilary Duff, Ed Sheeran, One Direction, Big Time Rush, Camila Cabello, Taylor Swift, Leona Lewis, Zedd, Hailee Steinfeld and MØ.

Tedder’s production and songwriting work has proven successful commercially. “Apologize”, performed by his band OneRepublic, “Bleeding Love”, performed by Leona Lewis, and “Halo”, performed by Beyoncé, all made it to the list of best-selling singles of all time. In early 2014, Billboard named him “The Undercover King of Pop” and featured him on the magazine’s cover. […]

Interview of Ryan Tedder, from Schön! Magazine, August 8, 2017:

Can you give a sneak peek into what you’re working on at the moment?

I’m still writing on the road but I’m also doing a lot more collaborations than I’ve ever done. I moved back to Los Angeles, which in itself is a door for collaboration. I’ve always been an autonomous guy, being in Colorado for the better part of the last decade. I have one or two songwriters signed to me that I work with but I’ve been operating like a satellite in a way, away from the Los Angeles and New York studio scenes.

Plus, most of the artists that I’ve worked with I do in their hometowns. British artists like Birdy, Adele or Ed Sheeran, I work with them in London. [If I work with] Paul McCartney, I go out to his place in the countryside. I go to where they are. I have been removed from the LA songwriter scene for the longest time but now that I live back here, I’ve been collaborating for the first time in a decade. […]

I’m really excited about the Paul McCartney stuff. Beyond happy, it’s probably my favourite session ever. I’d go as far as saying my favourite week in my life was working with Paul McCartney. […]

Paul McCartney interviewed for Sodajerkerpodcast, 2018:

I did three tracks with Ryan and [Fuh You] is the one on the album and then there’s two others, they’re nice. We only had a week, because there was a time when Greg was doing something else and my manager rung up and said you could maybe get with another producer, just to switch it up a bit, so he sent me some suggestions and I liked Ryan’s stuff. I rang him, and I think we decided he’d come to my studio for a week and we’d just see how we went. I said, ‘I’ve got a lot of songs we could do,’ but in the end, he just fancied making it up, so we just, you know, we went in with nothing, just got a beat, got a thing, got an idea for some lyrics and just built it up, you know, but he knows what he’s doing.
