About
Four days earlier, on August 2, 1968, three stereo mixes of “Hey Jude” were made at Trident Studios.
On this day, still at Trident Studios, The Beatles created a first mono mix from the third stereo mix, rather than using the eight-track tape.
This mono mix would not be used, and new mono mixes would be created at Abbey Road on August 8, 1968.
