“All In Love Is Fair” is an unreleased song developed between 1979 and 1981. For many years, the only circulating version was a loose jam recorded in June 1979 with Wings at Lympne Castle, available solely on bootlegs.
The track was rehearsed in October 1980, when Wings regrouped at Pugin’s Hall to prepare material for a new album — which would eventually become “Tug Of War.” It was subsequently worked on further during sessions at AIR Studios, London, in December 1980 and March 1981.
In 2025, a new version appeared on bootlegs. This take is a completely different rendition from the 1979 jam, featuring a new tempo, revised lyrics, and a more defined structure. A faint guide vocal by Denny Laine can be heard, but the recording remains a rough demo.
