“Politics Of Love” is a song written by Paul McCartney and Peter Gabriel, for a peace concert organized by Amnesty International project, to be held in Tokyo, on December 20th, 1986. It has been reported that the track was left in demo form but never completed before Paul & Peter’s voices didn’t blend well together.
It has then been said that Peter Gabriel did play the song live during the peace concert; but no bootleg exists of it.
From beatlesonfilm.com:
Some home movie footage was shot of Paul recording the unreleased song “Politics of Love” with Peter Gabriel at Paul`s Hogs Hill Studio in Sussex. An extremely brief excerpt (3 seconds) was seen in Paul`s DVD “Paul is Live” that he released in 1994. No doubt there is a lot more film footage from that day.
Paul McCartney has never played this song in concert.
