On Friday, 23 April 1965, filming continued at Twickenham Film Studios for the twentieth production day of Help!. The crew shot additional material from the drama-school sequence, which featured British comic Frankie Howerd as Sam Ahab, teacher of dramatic art, and actress Wendy Richard performing Lady Macbeth. During this day’s filming, the characters Clang and Ahme, played respectively by Leo McKern and Eleanor Bron, joined the sequence for the first time. The entire drama-school sequence, despite its elaborate staging and star-studded cast, would eventually be cut entirely from the finished film.
