On this day, according to “The Beatles Diary Volume 1: The Beatles Years” by Barry Miles, Paul McCartney and his girlfriend Jane Asher attended a performance by Ben E. King at the Scotch St James’s. George Harrison and his girlfriend Pattie Boyd, along with John and Cynthia Lennon, also went to the club but arrived too late and missed the show.
