The Long and Winding Road (unreleased Beatles documentary, 1970)
1970 • For The Beatles • Directed by Neil Aspinall
[In 1968] I started putting together a library of Beatles-related film and video performances. I was shocked that there was no archive already in existence, and felt it was essential to collect and file all the old promo clips, newsreels and other appearances for future reference. Neil saw the sense in this, and we soon found we had an array of Beatles footage, neatly racked and filed in numbered round film cans. […] The archive proved a sensible and astonishingly profitable idea. Much of the material we put together was later edited by Neil into the rough cut of a film called The Long and Winding Road. Sadly, the movie was never completed in its intended form. However, much of the footage we collected eventually surfaced in the hugely successful documentary series the Beatles Anthology in 1996.

FEATURE FILM OF BEATLES’ CAREER
A full-length feature film, tracing the history of the Beatles between today and their beginnings in Liverpool and Hamburg, is being compiled for world release at Christmas. Interviews with various members of the group — looking back on the controversies which have affected the Beatles’ career — may also be used, together with newsreel shots and film clips of some of their greatest hits. Speaking in New York before his return to London this week, George Harrison forecast that the break-up of the Beatles would not be permanent. Persistent rumours and reports that business manager Allen Klein had resigned from the board of Apple were again denied by the company as NME went to Press.
Liverpool premiere of the Beatles’ new “Let It Be” documentary, filmed last year, will now be at the city’s Gaumont cinema, and not the Odeon as previously reported. Both the Liverpool and London Pavilion screenings begin on May 20, following the nine-city American premiere next Wednesday (13).
John Lennon is in America with Yoko Ono, following the restoration of his U.S. visa — but it is not known if he will remain for the opening of the movie in New York.
George Harrison — who begins work on his first solo album on May 20, with Phil Spector producing — has said that “eventually” the Beatles will record again. He added: “Everyone is trying to do his own album, and I am too. But after that, I’m ready to go back with the others.”

Maccazine - Volume 40, Issue 3 - RAM Part 1 - Timeline
This very special RAM special is the first in a series. This is a Timeline for 1970 – 1971 when McCartney started writing and planning RAM in the summer of 1970 and ending with the release of the first Wings album WILD LIFE in December 1971. [...] One thing I noted when exploring the material inside the deluxe RAM remaster is that the book contains many mistakes. A couple of dates are completely inaccurate and the story is far from complete. For this reason, I started to compile a Timeline for the 1970/1971 period filling the gaps and correcting the mistakes. The result is this Maccazine special. As the Timeline was way too long for one special, we decided to do a double issue (issue 3, 2012 and issue 1, 2013).
