1972 Wings tour bus has a new owner
April 22 - 29, 2024
Around 2009, the Wings Tour Bus was found in a neglected condition in Tenerife by Justin James. He bought the bus from its previous owner, John Palmer. He finally managed to bring it back to the UK towards the end of 2017 with the intention of restoring it and using it for musical children’s tours.
From Ertransit, October 17, 2017 (translated from Spanish to English):
Today, the bus has been salvaged and donated to the English NGO Arms Around The Child who intend to bring it back to the UK, restore it and subsequently use it to attract charity activities, especially promotional events around the vehicle. Who will be in charge of the transport and customs management of the operation? Yes, you’re thinking right. Ertransit will be the freight forwarding company that will take Paul McCartney’s bus from Tenerife to Felixstowe. We will provide a Maritime service on an extra high flatrack and we will carry out the Export customs management of the operation to make the charity work of Arms Around The Child possible.
