From May 15, 2026, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame presented an exhibition dedicated to the story of Paul McCartney and Wings. The collection brought together a decade’s worth of memorabilia and archival materials from Paul, as well as items from other band members and close collaborators, offering a detailed look at Wings’ career throughout the 1970s.
The exhibition, announced on February 18, 2026, formed part of a broader reassessment of Wings’ legacy that had begun the previous year.
In November 2025, Paul McCartney released a new book co-authored with historian Ted Widmer, titled “Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run.” To coincide with its release, a new Wings compilation album, “WINGS,” was issued. The celebration continued in February 2026 with the release of the documentary “Man On The Run“, directed by Morgan Neville, on Amazon Prime Video, accompanied by a soundtrack album.

The Largest Collection Ever of Artifacts from Paul McCartney’s Personal Archive
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will open the doors to their exciting new exhibit “Paul McCartney and Wings.” This will be the first major museum exhibition to explore the story of Paul McCartney and Wings – a defining force in 1970s rock that bridged the gap between the end of The Beatles and the rise of a new era in popular music.
Comprised of the most extensive collection of items from McCartney’s personal archives to be made accessible to the public as well as donations from band members and associates, “Paul McCartney and Wings” will trace the arc of Paul McCartney’s post-Beatles reinvention – from his self-titled 1970 debut album through the formation of Wings to the band’s dissolution in 1981. The exhibition will feature numerous never-before-displayed artifacts, including instruments played in Wings’ recording sessions and in concert performances, clothing worn by the band, handwritten lyrics, original artwork, tour memorabilia, and previously unseen photography – presented within an immersive experience incorporating archival video, audio and images. “Paul McCartney and Wings” is made possible, in part, by support from Raymond James.
