Get Back / Don’t Let Me Down” was released as a single in the UK on April 11, 1969. Almost a month after, it was released in the US. The delay in the US release may have been due to a last-minute remix ordered by Paul McCartney on April 7, 1969, just four days before the official UK release date. This caused copies to be late in arriving at British record stores, and Apple, along with distributor Capitol, likely wanted to avoid a similar situation in the US.

Get Back” began its 12-week chart run on May 10, 1969, reaching number one two weeks later, where it stayed for five weeks.

Going further

If we modestly consider the Paul McCartney Project to be the premier online resource for all things Paul McCartney, it is undeniable that The Beatles Bible stands as the definitive online site dedicated to the Beatles. While there is some overlap in content between the two sites, they differ significantly in their approach.
