McCartney’s second band after the Beatles started as “Wings“; but by the release of its second album, “Red Rose Speedway” was renamed into “Paul McCartney & Wings“. For the release of 4th album “Venus And Mars” (released after “Band On The Run“), the band was again simply named “Wings“.
