My sister Yvonne brought me a ticket to see the Beatles at the Fairfield Hall in Croydon, I was only 12 and they topped the bill and this was a Mersey Beat tour and the Big Three, Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas, and Gerry and the Pacemakers also appeared, I sat in the seats behind the stage. Thanks Michael for sharing your memories! It's telling you still remember all of this, what a night it must have been !

I was at that concert.

I remember clearly that it was difficult to hear the performers because of the screaming from the audience. I thought that was bad manners and said so. I was 14.

I went there with my school friend to listen to Gerry and the Pacemakers, who were my favourites at that time.

I lived in Wallington, just a bus ride away. The buses were packed with young people heading to the concert.

It was a memorable day.
