On August 22, 1969, Paul McCartney produced the recording of “Carry On Till Tomorrow” for The Iveys.

Paul had asked George Martin to write a string arrangement for the song. On this day, George Martin was at Abbey Road to create a rough mix of the track, which he used as a reference to score the orchestral overdubs.

The orchestral parts were recorded on August 26-27.
