“My One And Only Love” is a 1952 song with music written by Guy Wood and lyrics by Robert Melling. It was recorded by Frank Sinatra in 1953, and by many other artists over the years including Doris Day, John Coltrane, Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Rickie Lee Jones, Sonny Rollins, Oscar Peterson…

Paul McCartney recorded it in 2012. It was released as one of the bonus tracks of the “Kisses On The Bottom“ deluxe edition.

There’s one [song] that’s quite famous, particularly in jazz circles, called ‘My One And Only Love’, which I’d never heard, it had passed me by. But it’s beautifully crafted, one of my favourite songs now.

Paul did such a smashing job on ‘My One And Only Love’, I wanted to put it on the regular album. But, in the end, I felt 14 songs were more than than enough and, given the terrific balance, none of them deserved to be replaced. With about 49 minutes’ worth of music I figured, ‘To hell with it, we’ll just use these as bonus tracks,’ and Paul was in complete agreement.
