On this day, Paul and Linda McCartney visited the site of the future Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), in Mount Street Liverpool. The Institute opened in January 1996.

From Liverpool Echo – Paul McCartney in Liverpool to view the almost completed Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. Paul revealed that he would not have gone ahead with the plans for the institute if he didn’t have the backing of the Liverpool Echo readers. 28th July 1995.
