Paul McCartney and Paul Mescal film promo video for “The Boys of Dungeon Lane”

Last updated on June 10, 2026

On this day, Paul McCartney and actor Paul Mescal — who portrayed Paul McCartney in Sam Mendes’ four-part biopic about The Beatles — were spotted together in Westminster, entering the Regency Café, which had been closed to the public. Press reports initially suggested that they were filming scenes for a documentary.

In fact, they were shooting a promotional video for Paul’s album “The Boys Of Dungeon Lane,” released in May 2026, directed by Charlotte Wells. The video takes the form of a conversation between the two set in an old café decorated with photographs from Paul’s early life, with extras costumed in a 1950s style — a retro backdrop for a discussion exploring the memories, relationships, events, and stories that inspired and shaped the album.

The first images from the video were released as part of a short teaser on March 26, 2026, the day the album was announced.

The complete 11-minute video, titled “The Boys of Dungeon Lane: In Conversation with Paul McCartney & Paul Mescal,” was released on the Amazon Live streaming platform on May 25, 2026.
