C Paul Johnson is a 14-year industry veteran with six shipped AAA titles and extensive expertise in sound design, musical composition, audio systems design, and voice-over production. He is the recipient of numerous industry awards, including audio GANG, the D.I.C.E. Awards, the Game Awards, ASCAP, and the TEC Awards. Johnson’s career began with creating soundscapes for Halo 2, from environmental ambience and weapons, to the vocal creature designs for the Flood. As a composer, Johnson made musical contributions to multiple Halo games, and defined the musical styles for the Vex, Cabal, and Hive environments while scoring Destiny. Johnson then served as Bungie’s Audio director on Destiny and its expansions. Technically, Johnson strives to create audio systems that best support a given game experience. He’s led the implementation of many interactive audio systems, including dynamic dialog systems for Halo and Destiny, a vector based rocket flyby system, and the music and mix implementations for Destiny.
