From The Beatles – It Was 60 Years Ago Today on Twitter : 5 February 1963 – With a night off from the Helen Shapiro tour, The Beatles appear at the Casino Ballroom in Leigh, the only time they’ll play this Lancashire town. The show was organised by NEMS Enterprises. The casino became a nightclub and was demolished in 2007
