Other songs from the "Back To The Egg" era

Robber’s Ball – recorded in Lympne Castle, Kent, in Autumn 1978, during the Back to the Egg sessions. All these over the top vocals suggest that Paul never saw this as regular song, but something to be put on a Cold Cuts comp, from the start.

The Music is Ideas book actually has credits listed, apparently...

Paul - lead and backing vocals, Mellotron (?), bass guitar, drums

Linda - backing vocals, Moog

Laurence Juber - electric guitar

Denny Laine - backing vocals

Steve Holley (?) - backing vocals (?)

And then personally what i noticed was missing

Unknown - piano, more electric guitars, Fairlight CMI? (flute sound), violin

I was the recording engineer on this tune . 18 years young . Working in the RAK mobile . The main engineer didn't show up nor Chris Thomas, the producer of those sessions so I was co-opted into filling the missing roles . There's a new book by author Luca Perasi that covers the whole Back to the Egg sessions in which I share my well worn stories about working with the genius and the lovely Linda . I was also tape op on Cruising Ahead .

I think Paul played everything on Robbers Ball . but then again it was nearly 50 years ago
