On 10th February 2012, Paul was honoured as the 2012 MusiCares Person Of The Year. This annual gala event in Los Angeles, founded in 1991, is always held in the week leading up to the GRAMMY Awards and honours an individual for a combination of musical achievement and dedication to philanthropy. The 2012 event followed the now well established tradition of some performances by Paul and some by a host of celebrity guests of many of the quintessential songs from across his career.
On 11th May 2015, Eagle Rock Entertainment release ‘A MusiCares Tribute To Paul McCartney’ on DVD and Blu-ray. The film features performances of Paul’s songs by Alicia Keys, Alison Krauss, Norah Jones, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Coldplay, James Taylor, Diana Krall, Dave Grohl, Joe Walsh, the acrobatic performance of Cirque du Soleil and Paul himself.
The show includes the classic songs ‘Yesterday’, ‘No More Lonely Nights’, ‘Magical Mystery Tour’, ‘We Can Work It Out’, ‘The Fool On The Hill’, ‘And I Love Her’, ‘Blackbird’ and many more!
