Ian is an experienced and versatile session musician who has been booked to play Cello and Electric Cello by some of the most successful artists working today.

Ian co-founded Millennia Strings in 1995, and Millennia have recorded for many artists including Travis, David Gray, Paul McCartney and Pavarotti.

Ian’s Film and TV sessions include The League of Gentlemen, Bridget Jones’ Diary, Kiss of Life and This is not a Love Song. And Ian has been commissioned to write string arrangements for Suede, Elbow, The Doves and Cathy Davy and for other bands.

On the electric cello, Ian has worked with many acts, including Drugstore, Tom McRae, Elbow, Ben Folds Five and Lambchop.
