An article published by The Guardian in May 2026, to coincide with the release of Paul’s album “The Boys Of Dungeon Lane”, suggested that the track “Home To Us” may have been recorded around this time.
[Producer Andrew] Watt has an abundance of memories from their time in the studio: how he was brought to tears by the vulnerability of “Days We Left Behind”, and how “Home to Us” – a duet with Ringo Starr which began life with a Ringo drum track – came to sound so strikingly fierce and loud. “We did not have pretty childhoods,” McCartney told Watt; it was important that the song should be just as tough. In the middle of the song’s recording, McCartney went to see Oasis, and was inspired by the enormity of the band’s sound. “Forget about Spinal Tap’s 11,” he told Watt, “the amps are on 12.” He sought a similar immensity.

From Latest Squeezings From the McGrapevine | SOMETHING NEW, September 9, 2025:
Paul McCartney has more reason to be in the Los Angeles area than just attending an Oasis concert in Pasadena this past weekend.
An informed source tells Beatlefan that Macca actually has been in L.A. off and on since early August, apparently working on his long-in-the-works next album and preparing to rehearse for his upcoming tour, which begins Sept. 29 in Palm Desert, CA.
None of that has been confirmed by official sources, but London’s Sun tabloid recently reported that McCartney has completed almost all of the upcoming album and hopes to have it mastered before the end of the year. It would be his first new solo studio release since “McCartney III” in 2020.
Late last week, Macca and his entourage were spotted at Anajak Thai in Sherman Oaks, one of L.A.’s top restaurants. Besides Paul’s wife Nancy and another woman, the group included producer Andrew Watt, with whom McCartney has been working since 2021.
Speculation in L.A. is that McCartney and Watt might be working at Henson Recording Studios, which the source said purportedly now is Paul’s “second favorite” studio after Abbey Road. It’s also one of the studios where Watt worked with The Rolling Stones on their 2023 album “Hackney Diamonds,” which included Macca playing bass on one track, “Bite My Head Off.” […]
