From Wikipedia:

No One’s Gonna Change Our World is a charity album released in the UK on 12 December 1969 for the benefit of the World Wildlife Fund.

The compilation was put together by comedian Spike Milligan. It includes two tracks from Milligan and one from his Goon Show castmate Harry Secombe. It features liner notes by Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The album is largely known by fans of the rock band the Beatles as the first release of the song “Across the Universe” – the title of the album comes from a line in this song, “Nothing’s gonna change my world”. It was also the first release of the Hollies song “Wings”, one of the last songs they did with Graham Nash in early 1968.

The album was released on Regal Starline catalogue number SRS 5013.

1968 BEATLE TRACK ISSUE; RINGO ON TV

A track recorded by the Beatles in 1968 but never before issued — “Across The Universe” — is included in an all-star charity album to be released on EMI’s budget-price Regal Starline label next month. But the proposed Plastic Ono Band single “You Know My Name”, which should have been released today (Friday), has been withdrawn at the last moment. The group’s next single will now not be issued until January, and a different title will be selected.

Meanwhile, three versions of Paul’s composition “Come And Get It” — the theme from Ringo Starr’s film The Magic Christian — have been scheduled for release. The soundtrack recording by Badfinger and a cover by a Major Minor group named The Magic Christians are out today (Friday), and a Nems version by the Vic Lewis Orchestra and singers is issued on December 12.

Ringo Starr discusses The Magic Christian with his co-star Peter Sellers in LW-TV’s Frost on Saturday tomorrow (6). Ringo is featured in BBC-2’s Line-Up next Wednesday (10). BBC-1’s 24 Hours has filmed a profile of John and Yoko Lennon for screening in the near future.

New Beatle track

Two previously un-released tracks — one by the Beatles and one by the Hollies — are part of an album titled, “No-one’s Gonna Change Our World” for release on December 12 on Regal Starline.

Royalties will be donated to the Royal Wildlife Fund and the sleeve contains a message from the patron, Prince Philip.

The Beatles’ track is “Across The Universe”. This was recorded in the Spring 1968. The Hollies’ previously un-released track will be “Wings”, written by Allan Clarke and Graham Nash.

The rest of the album has the following: “What The World Needs Now Is Love” by Cilla Black; “Cuddly Old Koala” by Rolf Harris; “Marley Purt Drive”, The Bee Gees; “I’m A Tiger”, Lulu; “In The Country”, Cliff Richard and the Shadows; “When I See An Elephant Cry”, Bruce Forsyth; three numbers by ex-Goon Show members, Spike Milligan – “Ning Nang Nong” and “The Python”; Harry Secombe with “Land Of My Fathers”, and “Bend It”, Dave Dee Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich.

The album will sell at the recommended retail price of 19/11d.
