AlbumSome of the songs worked on during this session were first released on the "McCartney - Archive Collection" Official album
In late December 1969, Paul McCartney began recording new music at his London home, sessions that would form the basis of his first solo album, “McCartney.”
Among the material recorded, he revisited one of his earliest compositions, “Suicide,” likely written in 1956 when he was fourteen. Conceived in a cabaret style, Paul had originally imagined offering it to Frank Sinatra. From the version recorded during these sessions, only a nine-second excerpt was included on the album, heard at the end of “Glasses.”
On this day, Paul McCartney revisited the recording and prepared a full mix for its release on the “McCartney – Archive Collection” in 2011.
