Come Inside” is a track from the album “The Boys Of Dungeon Lane“, released in 2026.

It’s basically a rocker, not much more to say except it’s terrific.

This song is called “Come Inside” and it’s basically a rocker. There’s not an awful lot more to say about it, except it’s terrific. Someone once told me years ago, little things you pick up about a thing called “Tierce de Picardie.” Anyone ever heard of that? No? Me neither. Well, it’s a classical music term and it means if the thing that you’re playing is in a minor key and then at the end you kind of go to a major key, right? So that minor [to major transition], that’s called “Tierce de Picardie.” See, you thought you were just listening to a record. It’s a lesson. So anyway, “Come Inside” [It’s] got a “Tierce de Picardie” on the end of it.

Paul McCartney – Track-by-track commentary from Amazon Music

Shortest preamble ever: It’s “basically a rocker,” McCartney said. “There’s not a lot you can say about it, actually.” And indeed, it’s the most full-bore rock song of the bunch. But afterward, he found quite a bit to say about… the final chord. “I’d learned years ago about a musical term… this is kind of in a minor key… a bluesy key.. (but) it resolves at the end with a major chord. That, in classical music, apparently — I could be wrong — is called ‘Tierce de Picardie.’ Has anyone ever heard of that?” An audience member spoke up, saying he’d studied music theory and indeed knew it by another name: a “Picardy third.” Unfortunately, there was no door prize awarded for this.

A countdown leading to May 29, the release date of the album, was organized on Paul McCartney’s social media accounts. Each day, details of a new track — including songwriting and recording credits — were revealed in reverse running order, with Track 10 unveiled ten days before the album’s release, Track 9 nine days before, and so on, culminating with Track 1 on the eve of release.

Lyrics

You can read my mind if you wanted to

You can come inside

You got to let me know what you wanna do

I don't wanna hide

Step right up and take a look

See what you can find

All my life's an open book

Come inside my mind

I can tell the truth if you wanna hear

What I have to say

There's not a single thing that you have to fear

If you come my way

Well, step right up and take a look

See what you can find

'Cause all my life's an open book

Come inside my mind

Open up your mind (Yeah)

Open up your heart (Yeah)

Nothing else is keeping us apart

Open up your mind

Open up your heart

Nothing else is keeping us apart

Open up your mind (Yeah)

Open up your heart (Yeah)

Nothing else is keeping us apart

Step right up and take a look

See what you can find (Open up your mind)

'Cause all my life's an open book

Well, come inside my mind (Open up my mind)

Step right up and take a look

See what you can find (Open up your mind)

'Cause all my life's an open book

Come inside, come inside my mind

I just love "Come lnside"! Right now, it's my favorite Paul McCartney song. I am wondering what the inspiration for it was. Would really like to see it here.
