About

In February 1966, the Grammy Awards Committee announced the nominees for the 8th Annual Grammy Awards. The Beatles received ten nominations, six for the song “Yesterday” and four for the album “Help!“.

However, at the ceremony held on this day, they failed to win any of those awards.

The following day, Capitol Records’ president Alan Livingston issued a protest that “Yesterday” had been denied the “Song Of The Year” award. “It makes a mockery of the whole event,” he complained.

The following year, The Beatles won three awards.

If we like to think, in all modesty, that the Paul McCartney Project is the best online ressource for everything Paul McCartney, The Beatles Bible is for sure the definitive online site focused on the Beatles. There are obviously some overlap in terms of content between the two sites, but also some major differences in terms of approach.
