Eldon Fox, an Australian cellist, was named principal cellist of the South Australian Symphony Orchestra under Sir John Barbirolli after World War II. In 1951, he traveled to Europe to study with Pablo Casals. Subsequently, he served as the principal cellist for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and pursued his professional career until his retirement at age 80.
Eldon Fox is credited with playing the cello on The Beatles’ tracks “I Am The Walrus,” “Piggies,” and “Glass Onion“.
