“Wings: The Story Of A Band On The Run” Limited Edition released

On November 4, 2025, a new book about Paul McCartney’s band Wings, titled “Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run,” was published. Edited by Ted Widmer, who also provides an introduction, the 528-page book was published by Penguin in the UK and W.W. Norton in the U.S. It featured over 100 black-and-white and color photographs, offering an in-depth look at Wings’ journey.

Announced on October 2, 2025, by Liveright Books, a limited deluxe edition of the book was issued on November 25. Only 175 copies were produced for the U.S. market and another 175 for the UK. Each edition was presented in a deluxe case and included a 24-page booklet of artworks showcasing the covers of Wings albums and singles, a coloured vinyl copy of the “WINGS” compilation, the book itself, a commemorative pin, and a souvenir patch. All copies were personally signed by Paul McCartney.

This limited edition carried a recommended retail price of £2,500 or US$4,000. Several copies were made available through competitions and prize draws.

Liveright Books had previously produced similar limited editions of “1964: Eyes of the Storm” and “The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present.“

On November 28, 2025, Elizabeth Hines, Denny Laine’s wife, shared photos of an even more exclusive edition of the book. Only 25 copies of this special version were produced, reserved for the author and shared with people close to Paul McCartney.
