About
“The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present” is a 900-pages book that covers Paul McCartney’s early Liverpool days, the Beatles, Wings, and solo careers, by pairing the lyrics of 154 of his songs with first-person commentaries of the circumstances in which they were written, the people and places that inspired them, and what he thinks of them now. It was announced on February 24, 2021, for release on November 2, 2021.
On this day, a special limited edition signed by Paul McCartney was announced.
From PaulMcCartney.com, September 22, 2021:
A Special Limited Edition copy of The Lyrics signed by Paul McCartney will be made available at select bookshops in the US and UK
Linked below are the bookshops that will be selling the 175 special limited edition copies of The Lyrics signed by Paul McCartney. Enquire directly to get your hands on this sought-after edition.
From Liveright Books, September 22, 2021:
The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present: Special Limited Edition, each copy signed by Paul McCartney, is now available for preorder in the US from Liveright Publishing at select booksellers.
From beatlesblogger.com:
Just 175 copies of this will make their way into the world, though as one reader points out in the Comments section below, there have been two different signed books with the number #95 sold recently on eBay. Each had a different publishing logo (Liveright Books = US, and Allen Lane = UK) thus raising doubts on the accuracy of 175 worldwide number. Maybe it is 175 in the US, and 175 in the UK?

Please let me know the cost of a signed edition of PAUL MCCARTNEY ‘THE LYRICS: 1956 TO THE PRESENT’
Hi Brian, I don't know as I haven't found any bookstore selling it online ! Bu the bookstores selling it are listed on https://medium.com/@LiverightPub/the-lyrics-1956-to-the-present-special-limited-edition-by-paul-mccartney-51acfd44a08a
Recommended retail is £1,500 in the UK
I'd like to obtain a signed copy of "The Paul McCartney Project". I live in Wales in the United Kingdom. Can you help or give advice ?
Have all stores in the USA sold out in preorders for these signed versions? I haven't found anything to indicate these stores having them (or that they once did in the past tense) aside from the Medium website, but maybe that's the point and you had to call back in September or show up and ask directly that way.
Hi Meagan, I don't know for sure, but considering the limited edition, I guess that yes, you had to call those stores as soon as the announcement was made !
I need to buy a signed copy of Lyrics, how can I do this in the UK
I believe many of the stores are auctioning them off since the number is so limited.
Unfortunately (but not unexpected) the prices on ebay are going crazy.
£6500 for this edition - https://www.ebay.com/itm/284526553020
$24,999 for this one - https://www.ebay.com/itm/203697737846
I work for KPIX News in SF - and I'm doing a segment on a small independent store who is raffling off their special edition signed copy for a nonprofit that supports educating children facing homelessness and housing insecurity. do you have a press contact for the author? Would love to include a comment.
I was lucky enough to get one of these from a UK bookseller. I’ve done an unboxing video to show what it looks like.
