About

From the liner notes:

This is an alternate recording from night two in Denmark. Incomplete show, missing Spirits of Ancient Egypt, Medicine Jar, Let’em In, Listen to What the Man Said, and Soily is incomplete.

I sat on the fence for a long while deciding if I should post this one. Initally I thought this was a straight audience tape but when I listened to it I realized this was a cassette copy of the TMOQ boot ‘Great Dane’. That’s what happens when you don’t listen to something for nearly 30 years, the mind gets a bit foggy. It was an excellent boot of which I never got a hard copy. In later years it circulated as a CDR which was just a rip of the LP. One problem with the boot besides missing a few songs is the fact that some songs were out of sequence. Lastly on the copy I have Soily cuts off on the end. I don’t know if the boot was like this or the person who made my tape messed up. As there is blank tape on the end it appears as though the song is just incomplete. If anyone know please share the info.

Since this is such a nice recording and I haven’t seen it around lately I decided to go ahead and do the work. I would have prefered to work with the actual LP but what can you do. The copy was very nice with very few clicks and pops. A few of which I did manually remove.I also decided it was time to re-sequence the songs and put them back in the proper order. So I did do a little bit of editing on this one. One thing that bugged me right off the bat was some mike noise on the right track during the intro to Venus and Mars. I elected to correct that by pulling that section from the left channel and replacing the flaw in the right. The next task involved finding the proper splice marks from the original editing. They were not hard to find as the cuts were rather abrupt and obvious. I tried as best I could to smooth things out when putting the songs back where they belonged. I can still hear some of the cuts, but then again I know where they are. Lastly the original LP was a two disc set which faded out at the end of each side. I eliminated these fades so as to make everything flow better. I hope it was all worth the effort. Enjoy!! (Watch, next week I’ll find an original LP)
