About
From Wikipedia:
A Collection of Beatles Oldies (subtitled But Goldies!) is a compilation album featuring a selection of songs by The Beatles recorded between 1963 and 1966. The album was released in the United Kingdom and Australia in both mono (catalogue number PMC 7016) and stereo (PCS 7016). It also saw a release in Mexico, Germany, Czechoslovakia and Spain.
The release of this album was the result of EMI not having any new material by the Beatles for the 1966 Christmas season in the manner of the previous three years.
The sole new track, a cover of Larry Williams’ “Bad Boy“, had not yet been released at all in the UK, even though it was released in the United States on the Capitol album Beatles VI in June 1965, only a month after the group recorded it. Some of the songs were released as singles. […]
BEST COLLECTION EVER
Parlophone are to release a special Beatles album in time for the Christmas rush. Titled “Oldies”, it must contain the most fantastic collection of hit tunes ever to be gathered together in two long grooves. The only title which has not been released before in this country is “Bad Boy”, an up-tempo number written by Larry Williams. It was recorded at E.M.I., St. John’s Wood, on May 10th, 1965, and was released on Capitol Record’s album, “Beatles Six”. Full list of titles and original release dates: “She Loves You” (August 1963), “From Me To You” (April 1963), “We Can Work It out” (December 1965), “Help” (July 1965), “Michelle” (From “Rubber Soul”, L.P. December 1965), “Yesterday” (From “Help”, L.P. August 1965), “I Feel Fine” (November 1964), “Yellow Submarine” (August 1966), “Can’t Buy Me Love” (March 1964), “Bad Boy” (December 1966), “Day Tripper” (December 1965), “A Hard Day’s Night” (July 1964), “Ticket To Ride” (April 1965), “Paperback Writer” (June 1966), “Eleanor Rigby” (August 1966), “I Want To Hold Your Hand” (November 1963).

There’s also another back cover made by you, which is that of the album “Oldies but Goldies”. Where was it taken?
That was taken in Tokyo … a lovely photograph.
Was it designed to match the colorful cover or had it nothing to do with it?
No, the colorful cover had nothing do with the picture. I think the cover came from the photograph.

Going further
If we like to think, in all modesty, that the Paul McCartney Project is the best online ressource for everything Paul McCartney, The Beatles Bible is for sure the definitive online site focused on the Beatles. There are obviously some overlap in terms of content between the two sites, but also some major differences in terms of approach.
