Paul being Paul we took a cutting edge early digital Mitsubishi 32 track recording studio on the road. Every show was recorded in full…..every soundcheck. Soundchecks were a two hour pre-show show, with invited guests. You were on edge because instead of fixing monitor issues you might find yourself making a record. Several soundcheck recordings were commercially released including the single ‘All My Trials’. London based Peter Henderson was drafted in to oversee a live television special for Japan. The Mitsubishi digital set up was usually just to the side of the stage or just behind, so it was impossible for the recording engineer to hear what was going to tape over the volume of the concert PA system. #tokyo #paulmccartney #digitalrecording #studiooutboard #touringlife #leicam6
